This app keeps things as simple as possible. It uses only the small amount of browser storage needed to keep you signed in and to remember how the app was set up on your device. It does not use advertising cookies.
What is stored on your device
- Sign-in session. A session record is kept in your browser so you are not asked to sign in again each time you open the app. It holds a token that identifies your session, not your password.
- Sign-in provider storage. If you sign in with a Google account, that provider sets its own cookies while you are signing in. These are managed by the provider, not by us.
- App preferences. Small settings, such as which tab you were last on or whether a dialog was dismissed, may be kept so the app opens the way you left it.
Why these are used
They are strictly necessary to provide the service you have asked for: signing in, keeping your session alive, and showing your own records rather than someone else’s. Because they are strictly necessary, consent is not required for them under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations.
What is not used
No advertising or behavioural targeting cookies, no sale of your browsing information, and no cross-site tracking. If we ever add optional analytics or marketing technology, this statement will be updated and, where the law requires it, we will ask for your consent before switching anything on.
Controlling storage
You can clear cookies and site data in your browser settings at any time. Signing out ends your session; clearing site data will also sign you out and may reset app preferences, so you will need to sign in again. Blocking strictly necessary storage will stop the app from signing you in. On a phone or tablet, the same applies to the app installed from your home screen.
If you use a shared device, sign out when you finish and do not save your credentials in the browser.
Third parties
The services that operate behind this app — hosting, sign-in, file storage and email — may set their own strictly necessary cookies when you sign in or when a document is opened. Their privacy notices explain how they handle that information.
